GEMSTONE TYPES

Before you read on about the different crystal meanings, first you need to know that adding crystals to your gemstone and having the materials you send grown into crystals is a choice. You can opt to have any materials you send made into a natural “stone” as opposed to a “gemstone”. Having materials grown into crystals is only offered here at Forever In Gemstones. While our process is gaining in popularity, some clients prefer having a stone made without materials being grown into crystalsmainly due to it being unfamiliar amongst the memorial jewelry industry. We understand this and so we offer alternative stone options.

YOU HAVE FIVE OPTIONS:

  • NATURAL
  • ADDING COLOUR
  • ADDING REAL CRYSTALS
  • MATERIALS GROWN INTO CRYSTALS
  • ADDING COLOUR TO CRYSTALS GROWN

NATURAL

As stated above, you can choose to have a natural stone made to set in the jewelry of your choice. This process consists of having one or more of the following materials mixed with a hardener and molded into the stone shape of your choice:

  • HUMAN ASHES
  • PET ASHES
  • HUMAN LOCK OF HAIR FROM THE HEAD
  • PET LOCK OF FUR
  • DRIED FLOWERS
  • GARMENT MATERIALS

ADDING COLOUR

There are many colours to choose from when deciding the look of your gemstone. You can find all the colour variations on the colour charts page. The materials can remain visible or not depending on your preference. Please note that the materials in the stone can alter the colour slightly. If you want a specific colour without any chance of the materials affecting the colour, you may want to consider having crystals grown.

ADDING REAL CRYSTALS

Crystals hold various meanings and energy’sPerhaps you would like your gemstone to hold a special meaning through the properties of a specific crystal. You can add as many different types of crystals as you likeIf you are searching for a specific crystal but do not see it on the crystal page, please contact us and we will be happy to search for it. The crystals we add are real and are fine like sand grain. This allows us to add one or more crystal types into gemstones made no matter their size. Adding crystals also adds extra sparkle and depth to any gemstone.

MATERIALS GROWN INTO CRYSTALS

This process used is what makes us unique. It allows for gemstone variations only found at our shop. Having your materials grown into crystals allows you to have actual gemstones created. When choosing to have crystals grown from your materials, you have a choice of:

  • DUST CRYSTALS
  • CLUSTERED CRYSTALS

DUST CRYSTALS

The materials you send are broken down into small sand like particles with the exception of ashes. Ashes are easily dissolved in the crystal solution so there is no need to break them down further. The sand or ashes are then added to a solution that allows the particles to grow into crystals. Once the crystals are fully grown, they are then sanded down into dust form and set in hardener and molded into shape. This process is most often used to make transparent and semi transparent stones. Our most popular being a clear transparency resembling clear quartz. The final piece has the look of an actual gemstone.

CLUSTERED CRYSTALS

Again, the materials you send are broken down into sand like particles. However, with this process the materials can also be left as they are to keep the look and shape of them. This excludes ashes unless you would like them to be faintly seen because for the most part, ashes dissolve in the solution. The sand is then added into a solution that allows the particles to be grown into crystals. Once the crystals are fully grown, the best are picked out according to the gemstone ordered. This process allows for a defined look. Your materials can be grown into one or more batches allowing for multiple colours in your gemstone.

ADDING COLOUR TO CRYSTALS GROWN

While crystal types have their own unique meanings, the colours of crystals also have very special properties as well. Please refer to the crystal types page to learn about the different energies the coloured crystals hold. While choosing either the dust crystals or cluster crystal type, you may want to consider adding colour to the crystal solution to have your sparklers one or more unique colours. This is most often used for materials such as ashes and hair that has been broken down as well as to add contour with dried flowers crystals. Choose to have multiple batches of crystals grown and select multiple coloured crystal gemstones or jewelry piece with more than one gemstone.
